THE APPROACH OF HURRICANE KATRINA FELT LIKE A BAD DREAM...
...BUT INSIDE THE SUPERDOME WAS THE TRUE NIGHTMARE.

Early in 2020, I got the opportunity to adapt Kuba Kucharski’s incredible true-life account of his experience before, during and after Hurricane Katrina, in his Superdome survival story, “In the Grip of Katrina”.

I was less than half way through his book when I knew I HAD to do it.

We worked hard all through 2020 going back and forth with drafts and notes and came up with what I think is a great, page-turning screenplay. So “In the Grip of Katrina” became “Katrina” and now we’re hoping to see Kuba and his wife Sylwia’s true story on the big screen in a Hurricane Katrina movie.
